2-1-1 Kern County are staffed by trained specialists who assess the callers' needs and refer them to the help they seek including services for rent assistance, food banks, affordable housing, health resources, child care, after-school programs, elderly care, financial literacy, job-training programs and more.

2-1-1 is available 24/7 with multilingual capabilities.

Diaper Program- Catholic Charities Bakersfield
The Catholic Charities of Bakersfield Diaper Program provides diapers to families with children between the ages of 0-5 years of age every 30 days.
​
Clients will need to provide proof of identification for children, proof of address and proof of income.

Migrant Childcare Alternative Payment Program (MCAPP)

The Migrant Childcare Alternative Payment (MCAP) Program provides child care services to migrant agriculturally working families thru six entry counties (Kern, Kings, Madera, Merced, Tulare, and Fresno)- click here for office locations. Giving choice to parents as to what type of child care, MCAP works thru licensed childcare centers, licensed family childcare homes, license–exempt (TrustLine), license-exempt (Relatives) and in-home providers.

Kern Regional Center's purpose is to provide supports and services to individuals with developmental disabilities to help them achieve an independent, productive, and satisfying life.

Any person suspected of having a developmental disability (intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, down syndrome or any handicapping condition or closely related, is eligible to receive free diagnosis and assessment services.
